01. Pressure
- Nominal pressure: the nominal pressure determined by the basic parameters of the device.
- Working pressure: the pressure when the device is running.
- Working pressure range: the pressure range allowed when the device is working normally.
- Inlet port pressure: the pressure measured at the inlet port of the component under specified conditions.
- Outlet port pressure: the pressure measured at the outlet port of the component under specified conditions.
- Starting pressure: the minimum pressure required to start the action.
- Burst pressure: the pressure that causes the component shell to be damaged and the liquid to overflow.
- Peak pressure: the pressure that is allowed to exceed the maximum pressure in a relatively short time.
- Operating pressure: the pressure during operating conditions.
- Impact pressure: the pressure generated by impact.
- System pressure: the nominal value of the pressure measured at the inlet of the first valve (collectively referred to as the overflow valve) in the system or at the outlet of the pump.
- Control pressure: the pressure of the control line or circuit.
- Charging pressure: the pressure of the gas before the accumulator is filled with liquid.
- Suction pressure: the absolute pressure of the fluid at the inlet port of the pump.
- Rated pressure: the pressure under rated conditions.

02. Working conditions
- Operating conditions: The conditions under which the device is used under certain specified conditions of use, expressed by various relevant parameter values. These parameter values may vary with the conditions of use.
- Rated conditions, standard conditions: Stable conditions of systems or components recommended based on the results of specified tests. “Rated characteristics” are generally given in product samples and expressed as: qn, Pn, etc.
- Continuous conditions: Conditions that allow the device to operate continuously and are expressed by various parameter values. Continuous conditions are expressed as: qc, Pc, etc., which are usually the same as rated conditions.
- Extreme conditions: Conditions that allow the device to operate under extreme conditions and are expressed by the minimum or maximum value of a certain parameter. Other valid parameters and load cycles must be clearly specified. Extreme conditions are expressed as: qmin, qmax, etc.
- Steady-state conditions: Conditions in which parameters do not change significantly after a period of stability.
- Transient conditions: Conditions at a specific moment.
- Actual conditions: Conditions observed during operation.
- Specified conditions: Conditions required to be achieved during use.
- Cyclic stable working condition: the working condition where the relevant parameters change regularly and repeatedly over time.
- Intermittent working condition: the working condition where working and non-working (stop or idle running) are performed alternately.
- Allowable working condition: the working condition that operates according to the performance and life allowable standards.
03. Temperature
- Device temperature: the temperature obtained at the specified part and specified point of the device.
- Medium temperature: the medium temperature measured at the specified point.
- Device temperature range: the allowable temperature range in which the device can operate normally.
- Medium temperature range: the temperature range of the medium in which the device can operate normally.
- Ambient temperature: the temperature of the surrounding environment when the device is working.

04. Traffic
- Flow rate: the amount of fluid passing through the cross section of the flow channel per unit time (can be specified as volume or mass).
- Rated flow rate: the flow rate under rated operating conditions.
- Supply flow rate: the flow rate supplied to the component or system inlet.
05. Leakage
- Leakage: The phenomenon that the fluid flows through the sealing device without doing useful work.
- Internal leakage: Leakage between the inner cavities of the components.
- External leakage: Leakage from the inner cavity of the component to the atmosphere.
06. Others
- Pressure drop, differential pressure: the difference in pressure between two points (such as inlet and outlet) in a system or component under specified conditions.
- Control pressure range: the range between the highest allowable control pressure and the lowest allowable control pressure.
- Back pressure: the pressure generated in the device due to changes in the downstream resistance or the ratio of the inlet and outlet port impedance of the component.
- Pressure regulation deviation: the increase in pressure when the pressure control valve is adjusted from the specified minimum flow to the specified working flow.
