1. Dust Seal
Installed on the outside of the hydraulic cylinder end cap, its primary function is to remove dust and moisture adhering to the piston rod and prevent it from entering the system. It features excellent wear resistance, extrusion resistance, impact resistance, minimal compression deformation, and ease of installation.
2. Piston Rod Seal
Installed on the inside of the end cap, it primarily prevents hydraulic oil leakage and is a critical component in the system that withstands pressure. It requires excellent pressure retention when stationary, high pressure resistance when in motion, excellent sealing performance, a low friction coefficient, and strong extrusion resistance.
The piston rod seal is made of polyurethane or nitrile rubber. In some applications, it is used in conjunction with a support ring to prevent the seal from extruding and deforming under pressure.
The piston rod seal needs to apply uniform force to the sealing area, exhibit excellent wear resistance, good media compatibility, a low friction coefficient, high and low temperature resistance, a compact structure, and be easy to install.
3. Guide Support Ring
Attached to the end cap and piston, it supports the piston rod and piston, ensuring linear motion and preventing degradation of sealing performance due to uneven force.
The service life of the guide support ring directly impacts the performance and lifespan of the piston and rod seals. Therefore, high requirements are placed on the guide ring and support ring, such as low friction coefficient, high hardness, and long service life.
4. End Cap Seal
This seals between the cylinder end cap and the cylinder wall, preventing hydraulic oil leakage through the gap. It typically consists of a nitrile rubber O-ring and a support ring.
5. Piston Seal
This seal separates the two chambers within the hydraulic cylinder and is the primary sealing element.
It is typically a two-piece design, with an outer ring made of PTFE or nylon and an inner ring made of nitrile rubber. There are also various variations, including PTFE-coated bronze. Single-acting cylinders also use a polyurethane U-cup.
03. Selection of hydraulic cylinder seals
Selecting the right hydraulic cylinder seal requires considering multiple factors, including operating conditions, operating pressure, speed, environment, and sealing performance requirements.
